We are delighted to announce that the final sum raised by the 3Ls Students’ Association in support of Alzheimer Scotland was £5,000.
We have heard from Caroline Miller, Stakeholder Engagement Lead, that the total raised will be enough to fund the Alzheimer Scotland helpline for a whole month. Caroline explained that during the pandemic the charity have had to make really tough decisions on how to direct their support as they had to close all of their dementia resource centres temporarily. The organisation hopes to be up and running again soon with a reduced and more individual service, but in the meantime the helpline saw an explosion of calls from people in crisis during this time and has literally been a lifeline. Caroline explained that our support is greatly valued.
Caroline has advised that the latest Alzheimer Scotland initiative is building a Virtual Resource Centre to support people at this time when they can’t be there in person. They are asking the public to donate to “buy a brick” to fund the build of the centre. Any support 3Ls members can offer on an individual basis would be most appreciated.

A huge thanks goes out again to everyone who has contributed to our programme of fund-raising event in support of this year’s President’s Charity.
